Pastiches of The
Adventures of
Sherlock Holmes
All
the
original Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle had
been dramatised as radio plays in the 1930's and 1940's. The
characters of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson were very popular so
the radio producers commisioned new
stories to be written. Most of these scripts appear to have been by
Edith
Meiser. The quality of the plots is usually not very good and the
stories are more adventures than mysteries. These were
all broadcast in North America with advertisements at the
beginning, in
the middle and at the end. We have begun to edit some of these,
removing the adverts and cleaning the sound where possible.
Even if the plots are not very good at least you can hear Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson having further adventures.
